Installation method of original fan
The Intel original fan adopts a downward pressure fan design, and the original fan itself comes with silicone grease, so it can be installed directly (without the need to apply silicone grease again). After installing the processor, proceed with the installation of the fan.
Step: Organize the fan
When organizing the fan, it is important to pay attention to the position of the fan power cord and fastener button. The cord should be sorted out in advance to avoid any contact between the fan and the cord during operation. The initial position of the power cord is usually inside the fan (it can be removed). Note that the black raised dot on the buckle button as shown in the figure should be close to the fan. If the knob is not close to the fan, please restore it.
Step 2: Adjust the position of the radiator
Place the heat sink in a suitable position, place the fan horizontally above the processor cover, and align the bottom of the buckle posts (pointed contacts) around the buckle with the four buckle points on the motherboard. The motherboard buckle holes of Intel processors are distributed near the CPU slots, and users can easily find them by observing the motherboard. Before installing the original Intel heat sink, it is important to check whether the rotary switch has fully returned to its original position (original position: the dot is next to the heat sink).
Step 3: Press the buckle
Due to the use of four fastener designs, the correct method for installing the radiator fastener is the "diagonal" press installation method. Sequential pressing can easily cause uneven force on the fan, making it difficult to press the other two fasteners.
Note that when pressing the buckle button, extra force should be applied. When a clear clicking sound is heard, it indicates successful pressing.
After installing the heat sink, we need to connect the power cord of the heat sink fan (4Pin connector of the fan) and plug it into the heat dissipation and power supply interface of the motherboard.
Step 4: Remove the fan
To remove the heat sink, first remove the power cord, separate the fan power cord from the motherboard, and then proceed with the removal of the heat sink buckle.
Learn to install a heat sink while also being able to disassemble it. There are two points to note when disassembling an Intel original heat sink.
1. Rotate the protruding point of the fastener column counterclockwise towards the outside of the radiator in the direction indicated by the button.
2. Use your thumb and index finger to lift the rotated fastener column upwards, and then remove the four fasteners in sequence.
